Yesterday in my ‘dummy’ 5 ways to make article marketing working for you, I told you that you have to position your articles first.
Today I will tell you how to use Keywords to position Your Articles.
Keywords are the words or phrases that people use to search for anything and everything they want online. So basically, if you want your article to be found, you need to position your article in the relevant searches that right people can find your articles easily on the search engines.
How?
By using the right keywords.
So First, you need to find the keywords that you intend to use.
Keyword Research
Basic keyword research is really pretty easy, and there isn’t too much about it that even a beginner can do it well. To start with keyword research, the keyword research tool – Google Adwords Keyword Tool will be the first choice.
Why?
Google is the most popular search engine around; getting data from it will be a logical place to begin.
When you are doing your keywords research, there are 3 components you have to consider.
- Number of Searches
Simply, this is just the number of searches per month. If a term has a high number of searches that means lots of people are looking for it, which definitely makes it a better choice.
2. Competition
Once you have a keyword that has a decent amount of searches, search it on Google search engine. Load Down the number of results, when you get the results. If there are 11,800,000 results, then that means a lot of people are competing for the same keyword.
On the other hand, if you end up with something like 1,800 results, then you have very few competing websites.
So with less competition and good keywords, your article will have much better chance of appearing on the first page of the search results, which is really what you should be aiming for. Once you’re there, you will no doubt see a dramatic increase in your views.
3. Profitability
Not all traffic is profitable, sometimes the traffic that attracted by certain keywords just refuses to be converted. So it is better just do one simple test of the ‘profitability’ of a keyword before you use on your article.
When you do your keywords completion research, remember to check if there is any advertising appears for the same keywords or similar keywords. If there are, then that means someone out there thinks it is a keyword that people will spend money on.
By considering the three components while you are doing your keywords research you should have a good list keywords. Remember: The whole idea about positioning your articles in profitable position is having your right keywords with a decent number of searches per month, and low competition.
